Delegations of the Jerusalem and Romanian Patriarchates, held discussions in a spirit of Christian Orthodox communion, fraternity and mutual respect, from February 20-21, 2013 in Jerusalem. They reached an agreement regarding the Romanian Settlement in Jericho, considered to be a hostel for the Romanian Orthodox pilgrims visiting the Holy Land.
With the blessing of His Holiness Theophilos of Jerusalem and His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania, the delegations signed the document, whereby brotherly Eucharistic communion between the two Churches was restored.
On this occasion, the delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate extended an invitation to His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem to visit the Romanian Patriarchate in October 2013. His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos joyfully accepted this invitation.
