On May 24th, through a donation of the National Association of Greeks in St. Petersburg, the unveiling of the new monument to two brothers from Thessaloniki, Sts. Cyril and Methodios, the Apostles to the Slavs and creators of the Cyrillic alphabet, took place. This was done out of gratitude for their spreading of the language of Christianity to the Slavic people. Through the inauguration of this monument it is hoped that it will be the occasion to develop even closer relations with Russia.
