A Recent Miracle of Panagia Gorgoepikoos in Trikala

Demetrios Dimitrakopoulos from Farsala in Thessaly recounts a recent miracle of the Panagia Gorgoepikoos (She Who Is Quick To Hear) as he lived it, to the glory of our Panagia.

On September 9, 2014 the Sacred Icon of the Panagia Gorgoepikoos was in the Metochion of the Sacred Monastery of Docheiariou in Soho of Thessaloniki. I was collecting tomatoes in Trikala in the village of Paliopyrgos, and due to much rain there was trouble harvesting the tomatoes.

One of the producers with a very good tomato production took me to his field to see and gather.

The weather was rainy and it was difficult to impossible to gather tomatoes, so I told him that I will leave to go to venerate the Holy Icon of Panagia Gorgoepikoos in Soho. He put his hand in his pocket, and gave me 20 euros to light a candle to her grace in order for her to help him gather his produce. I told him that I would offer supplication to the Gorgoepikoos and to not fear.

This took place at 11:00a.m. and I left, jumping full of joy to my Golden Queen, my indescribably refuge, my Heavenly Hope, and I arrived at the Metochion when the they were chanting in church together the Supplications to the Panagia Gorgoepikoos. Full of joy I began to chant from deep within my soul, with love and humility, and to noetically and aloud supplicate many requests, and one of them was for the producer of the tomatoes.

When the supplications ended I saw my Elder Gregory and the fathers, and as we were talking the telephone rang. It was the producer in Trikala, and he told me that a short while earlier (as we were chanting the Supplications to the Gorgoepikoos) a fierce storm began and he went to his field to see how it was, and a flood had gathered around the border of the field where the rain had stopped!

This unexplainable event continued for several days in the area as I was collecting tomatoes, and I personally ascribe this to a miracle of the Panagia Gorgoepikoos, and with joy I was informed that in this village they have made an icon of the Gorgoepikoos and intend to celebrate her.

May we have the blessing of the Panagia Gorgoepikoos.
