One of the most precious spiritual treasures of Orthodoxy, a fragment of the honorable skull of the Apostle and Evangelist Matthew, whom our Church commemorates on November 16th, is kept by the Patriarchate of Alexandria in its second headquarters in Cairo. It was displayed in 2012 for the first time in recent memory, and each year since then on the feast of the Holy Apostle.
