I have an amazing little booklet available I wanted to offer to my readers for purchase which would make especially great reading for Great Lent. Recently I was commissioned to translate some beneficial writings of Righteous Alexei Mechev, but it didn't fall through and I was left with a bunch of booklets I would like to now sell instead of counting my losses. Please order today!

Holy Martyr Marinos the Elder

St. Marinos the Elder (Feast Day - October 18)

Verses

Marinos the Elder rebuked the error of old,
With the daring of youth, and met his end by sword.

Saint Marinos came from Tarsus in Cilicia and lived during the reign of Emperor Diocletian (284-304). When he was brought before the governor Aristobulus, he refused to deny his faith in Christ. For this he was beaten with rods, loaded with chains and thrown into a dark dungeon. At daybreak, he was brought forth, tied to a wooden trestle, beaten again, and then he won the crown of martyrdom by being decapitated.
