Sts. Pompianos, Galation, Juliana and Satorninos (Feast Day - June 22) |
Verses
To Pompianos.
Pompianos performs a strange procession,
From the sea towards the wide heavens.
From the sea towards the wide heavens.
To Galation.
The water of the sea was salty Galation,
For sweetness it seems to have had milk.
For sweetness it seems to have had milk.
To Juliana and Satorninos.
The youth of Juliana and her child,
Blossoms just as the fire consumes.
Blossoms just as the fire consumes.
The Holy Martyr Pompianos met his end by being cast into the sea.
The Holy Martyr Galation met his end by being cast into the sea.
The Holy Martyr Juliana and her son Satorninos met their end by fire.
These four Saints had a Synaxis celebrated in their own martyrium in Constantinople on this day, which was next to the Church of Saint Euphemia in the Petrio, which was in the quarter named Dexiokratianai, named after the houses owned here by one Dexiokrates.
