ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY THEN AND NOW: Félix Sartiaux was sent to Foça, Turkey in 1913 to conduct archaeological excavations on the town. Sartiaux witnessed and later documented the violent pillage & massacre of Greeks in June 1914 by Turkish irregulars. Over 100 Greeks were massacred.
