Protopresbyter Fr. John S. Romanides, among the greatest and most influential Orthodox theologians and historians of the 20th century, reposed in the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2001. His funeral took place on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation to the Theotokos in Athens. Among those who attended were the following: Metropolitan Hierotheos (Vlachos) of Nafpaktos and Agiou Vlasiou (who represented Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens and All Greece), Metropolitan Panteleimon (Rodopoulos) of Tyroloi and Serention, Metropolitan Eugenios (Politis) of Hierapytna and Sitia, Bishop John (Kallos) of Amorion and formerly the Bishop of Atlanta, Protopresbyter Fr. George Metallinos and other Priests, his family (his sister and nephew were absent), as well as students and friends. The funeral was chanted by the Association of Music Lovers of Constantinople.

Below are recordings of the funeral service of Fr. John Romanides as well as recordings and translations of the eulogies from that day. Unfortunately, I am unaware of any photographs or videos from that day.
