We ought to shout every moment of our lives: "We have found the Messiah!" (Jn. 1:41).
However, there must exist beforehand: "Come and see!" (Jn. 1:39).
We must have a living experience of the Faith.
When Venerable Iakovos (Tsalikes) was asked: "What is faith?", he replied according to his experience:
"Faith is Iakovos seeing with his physical eyes the holy Angels and Archangels, flying over the Holy Altar, during the Divine Liturgy."
(Excerpt from the sermon of Elder Gabriel, Abbot of the Monastery of Venerable David in Evia, after the Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Holy Apostle Andrew, which was broadcast live from the katholikon of the Monastery online on November 30, 2020.)
